Soon enough, it’s going to be two years since the last time that official information came out from the game. However, Bandai Namco’s presence at E3 2021 raises the hopes for a new trailer from Elden Ring to be shared in June this year.
Elden Ring Release Date Mentioned in a Financial Report
While there is still more to discover about Elden Ring, it seems the COVID-19 pandemic has already affected the development pace of the game heavily, forcing developers to push its release date back to 2022.
According to the latest financial report from Kadokawa Corporation, the mother company of FromSoftware, Elden Ring is not expected to launch by March 2022. The report indicates that the earliest release date for the game could be set for April 2022 or beyond. (Thanks, DSOG!)
It’s already one year from now and almost three years from the day that Elden Ring was announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Moreover, it will remain unanswered whether the game would still support PS4 and Xbox One as its target platforms in 2022 or it would skip the last-gen consoles to bring the best experience possible on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is currently the last published game from the Elden Ring developers that was released back in 2019. The game won the Best Game award in 2019’s The Game Awards festival, which obviously raises the expectations for Miyazaki’s next title.
