How long does it take to assassinate two targets in a densely populated stage in Hitman 3? Apparently only nine seconds.
Yes, you read that correctly. Less than one week after the conclusion to the “World of Assassination” trilogy released, speedrunners Wreak and Der_Lauch_Linus finished the Dubai stage titled “On Top of the World,” in only nine seconds under the “Any%” category. The feat was accomplished by simply shooting the two targets while they talk to others in attendance immediately after they spawn. Sounds easy right?
It is certainly easier said than done. Although it is hard to imagine anyone finishing the stage quicker than that, the runners are still trying to optimize their time by more accurately lining up their shot according to VG24/7. The time has officially been verified by speedrun.com. However, being that they assassinate their targets in plain sight, they fail to receive the “Silent Assassination” rank. Don’t worry, that feat has been accomplished in only 17 seconds so it is not too far behind. If there was any doubt that Agent 47 is the world’s greatest assassin, I think this solidifies it.
To the excitement of many fans, Hitman 3 has launched to quite favorable reviews, currently holding an 88 out of 100 on Metacritic. In Dualshockers’ own review we awarded the game an 8 out of 10, saying “When all the pieces line up and your plans come together, the end result is a delight to witness,” and “For those who are already fans… this should be just what the unusual doctor with the barcode tattoo ordered.” Developer IO Interactive also revealed on Twitter that the game had the series’ most successful launch to date, boasting high review scores and revealing that the final game in the trilogy had the biggest digital launch in the franchise’s history.
Hitman 3 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch and PC.
