Genshin Impact players everywhere should rejoice today. The team over at miHoYo posted a new developer discussion post today that spoke to several upcoming changes. The most important being that iOS players are finally getting controller support on iOS. Once update 1.3 hits, you’ll be able to hook up several different controllers using Bluetooth. That’s great news for anyone wanting to stretch out their cramped fingers. Check it out.
Morning, Travelers!

You won’t be able to use every controller out there with the iOS version of Genshin Impact. However, the selection is still pretty solid. The game will support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth version), Xbox Elite Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4, and iOS-specialized Bluetooth controllers. So, there are a few controllers missing, but that’s going to cover most people.
Regardless, this is a godsend for many Genshin Impact players. Obviously, most players have probably gotten used to playing on their smaller mobile devices by this point. That said, for those of us who haven’t picked the game up because we have big old fat fingers and can’t be bothered to play most iOS games, this is incredibly helpful. Now, I might finally pick the game up and see what all the hubbub is about.
There are a few other updates alongside this news. Version 1.3 will have the ability to convert materials alongside several other changes. Of course, as someone who hasn’t jumped in yet, I don’t quite understand everything, but feel free to give the full notes a look if you’re interested.
Genshin Impact is available now on Android, iOS, PC, and PS4. It’s also coming to Nintendo Switch and PS5 at some point down the line.
