With the Halloween event out of the way, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have been eagerly anticipating the next updates to the game. Nintendo’s biggest hit of the year has already seen a handful of updates, including swimming and diving, dream islands and more and now we have confirmation of the next two events, a Thanksgiving celebration and a Christmas event.
The two events were initially teased at the end of the Halloween update video and now Nintendo has confirmed that, starting on November 26, players can get in the Thanksgiving spirit to celebrate Turkey Day.
The event sees the arrival of “first-class chef” Franklin the Turkey. Franklin will help players get rid of their inevitable Haloween pumpkin surpluses by cooking them into a delicious dish in the town square. Few other details are shared about the update however the reveal video shows a large celebration taking place amongst islanders.
The second event is the Christmas themed Toy Day, which takes place on November 24, Christmas Eve. This event sees Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer arrive on the island. Toy Day will see players don a giant sack and distribute presents “from Santa” around the island. Within the trailer, tonnes of exciting Christmas decorations can be seen, including a variety of Christmas Trees and lights.
As well as the two events, the video confirms a pair of new items available to purchase with Nook Miles. The first of the two is the “Hip Reaction Collection” which is available for 2700 miles and comes with a total of nine new reactions, including a selfie option and a yoga option, allowing players to join the exercise parties that take place in their town squares.
The second item is the “Top 6 Stylish Hairstyles” pack. This pack offers players a range of new, more inclusive, hairstyles including an afro and a bald look.
That pesky racoon, Tom Nook, is also finding new ways to take players bells in this update. Although houses have now reached their maximum size, Nook is offering players the opportunity to increase the storage space in their properties, from 1600 items to 2400.
The final announcement from the trailer is regarding island backups. From Thursday, November 19, players will be able to transfer their island and villager data to another Nintendo Switch via the free Transfer Tool App. More information can be found through the following site.
