Yesterday, Rare announced a special DLC that is now available to purchase for Sea of Thieves and will grant players access to some lovely looking sails with proceeds going towards the Stand Up To Cancer charity. The “Sails of Union” are only available for a limited time and available from both the Microsoft Store and also through Steam.
The DLC is “Sails of Union” and is available to purchase from the Microsoft Store for $5.99 and Steam but is not available to purchase through the in-game Pirate Emporium. Those equipping the sails will notice that during the day, the sails are yellow with arrows to signify the Stand Up To Cancer branding. The cool thing about them is that during night sailing, the sails light up with yellow dots scattered about them, like some fancy constellation of sorts.
Calling all charitable corsairs! The Sails of Union are now available from the Microsoft Store, and all proceeds from sales of these sails will go directly towards helping the @SU2CUK crew with their important work!

The Stand Up To Cancer charity is a UK-based fundraising campaign by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4. The official UK website for the charity details that funding “will help us see 3 in 4 people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034” and helps to speed up life-saving research. The charity is also in the United States.
The description page for the Sea of Thieves DLC details that 100% of proceeds will be donated if purchased through the Microsoft Store, however, if purchasing the DLC through Steam, Microsoft will be donating 75% of the purchase price. Purchases made outside of the US will be donated to Cancer Research UK, while those grabbing the DLC within the US will find proceeds donated to Stand Up To Cancer, a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
Those interested in getting these sails for Sea of Thieves can get them today until November 6, 2020. Sea of Thieves is available on PC and Xbox One.
