The other day throughout the Night City Wire event, we got to hear about some of Cyberpunk 2077‘s enemies. During a chat with VG247, CD Projekt Red veteran and senior gameplay designer, Pawel Kapala, discussed how they aim to avoid bullet sponge foes. We also got to hear about various features of the game including melee combat and how the devs are still not 100% happy with this element even though the game is to release in a few short months. What we do know for sure though is how great the characters look which rolls nicely into this amazingly detailed Cyberpunk 2077 Royce cosplay.

Larry Hastings, a costume, prop, and set designer/maker from Cincinnati, Ohio, slides into our cosplaying news feed with his fantastic Cyberpunk 2077 Royce attire. For a little context on Royce for those of you who may not know: Simon Randall, better known as Royce, is a leader of the Maelstrom crew. Due to being a psychopath, he is extremely violent, dangerous, and even harder to predict or control, enjoying nothing more than randomly pulling his gun out on people whenever he feels like it. Thankfully, Larry is nothing like Royce (I hope) but his dedication to the character is second to none, easily slipping inside Royce’s persona.

Recently, Larry got the news that he had made it through to the Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay contest as a finalist where the results of the overall winner will be released to the public soon. Larry sits up with other incredible entries into the contest with the likes of Anna Ormeli as Lizzy Wizzy, Andy Valentine as V and other fantastic looking cosplayers. For those of you who are wondering if he can actually see through this crazy looking headpiece, the answer is yes, he can. Discussing how he went about creating his headpiece, Larry stated that the entire prosthetics was initially designed on paper and in his head first before he started to craft it. With the help of @merybeard, they made a life cast using a latex bald cap first, then used silicone cast for the head/face of the prosthetic application. To allow Larry to have the maximum vision, they built the prosthetic so that it blended into his skin seamlessly to give the illusion that his eyes were covered over.

You can check out some images of how all of this was made below and for more, make sure to head over to Larry’s Instagram.

One place you probably don’t want to be in at the moment is a Subway train. Given that they are pretty nasty and uncomfortable at the best of times, Cyberpunk 2077 thought that they would refresh your memory and offer a free wallpaper showcasing the Night City’s many subway stations as well as adding a little stress into the image by inserting armored police officers with futuristic rifles and metal riot shields. As exciting as the thought of getting our hands finally on Cyberpunk 2077 is, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the next Witcher game will begin once Cyberpunk 2077 launches. CD Projekt Red President Adam Kiciński said that some effort has already gone into the studio’s next title. “We have already been working on another single-player game; we have created a relatively clear concept that is waiting for further development,” said Kiciński via translation. “And this is already happening, although we do not want to spend time at the moment.”

For those of you who love a good comic, (I know I do!) CD Projekt Red are releasing a Cyberpunk 2077 comic series that should tie you over until the game launches. The first issue seems to come in at 32 pages and is priced at $3.99 and will be made available on September 9, 2020. Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 19, 2020; the game will eventually come to Google Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X after launch. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game yet, physical versions of the game are still discounted on Amazon — you can pre-order to help support DualShockers.
