Square Enix revealed a new trailer for NieR Reincarnation alongside the dates for the game’s Closed Beta Test in Japan. Registration is from July 13 to 26, 2359 JST. The Closed Beta Test itself will run from July 29 1300 JST to August 5 1259 JST. 10,000 applications from iOS and Android users each will be accepted, for a total of 20K Closed Beta players. We learned all this via the NieR Reincarnation official site, which was updated with all this new info July 13.
As for how to apply to the Beta, first off the application form is only in Japanese so you’ll need some knowledge of the language. Next, it’s similar to all Square Enix mobile games in how you’ll simply need to create a Square Enix Membership account and then register with it. You should google how to do that and you’ll be fine. Last but not least though, remember there is no guarantee you’ll be picked, as only 20,000 players will be selected. Moreover, as usual the rules specifically state the CBT is only open to Japanese residents, and we’ll only know how hard this will be enforced or not when the Closed Beta Test starts.
Net up is the trailer, which most notably reveals the turn-based like battle system of Nier Reincarnation:
Artwork of some of the characters were revealed as well.
One of the protagonists, called “White Girl”, which I personally find incredibly funny as a name for obvious reasons.
The ghost-like thing with her, called “Mama”.
Some of the monster types in the game.
A cool key visual artwork. Everything was drawn by Akihiko Yoshida.
You can read much more on NieR Reincarnation with our past coverage. We most notably translated an interview about the game here and here. Producer Yosuke Saito mentioned back then the game would get a Closed Beta soon. The game was also already confirmed to include gacha elements unsurprisingly. Be sure to check out the latest details on NieR Replicant ver 1.22 as well.
