Over nine months after its launch, it seems Ghost Recon Breakpoint will finally get AI teammates this year. The feature was already available in Ghost Recon Wildlands, but for some reason, it was missing in Breakpoint and now Ubisoft is trying to bring it back with the game’s next update that will be revealed on July 12.
Unlike most of Ubisoft’s titles over the last few years, Ghost Recon Breakpoint experienced a total failure at launch. The game was rated poorly by most of the reviewers, and players criticized its lack of creativity compared to its predecessor, Wildlands. However, Ubisoft kept supporting the game and tried to tackle part of the issues by multiple updates and add some new features to the game.
Bringing back AI teammates is one of the most wanted features that will finally make its way to Breakpoint in the near future. Teasing it with a new teaser trailer, Ubisoft announced that the upcoming update and its features will be fully explained during Ubisoft Forward‘s pre-show on July 12.
It’s yet to be seen how AI teammates would work on Breakpoint. The new system might bring some new mechanics compared to Wildlands as Breakpoint features a more tactical gameplay style. Also, Breakpoint has a greater focus on character upgrades and customizations, so it might not be surprising to see all the same options available for customizing your AI teammates.
Regarding the fact that the enemy AI has been designed poorly in Breakpoint, it’s important to see how AI teammates will act during the missions.
Ubisoft Forward Pre-Show will go live at 10:30 AM PDT on July 12. Along with new Breakpoint news, it will also feature some new updates on The Division 2, Just Dance 2020, and Trackmania.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s worth noting that Uplay Plus subscribers on PC can play it for free.
