With just under a month until the game’s release, anticipation is continuing to build for The Last of Us Part II. While the game experienced some unexpected circumstances in the past few months from a delay to some devastating story leaks, few would deny that The Last of Us Part II is a game that many are looking forward to. As the continuation of one of the most acclaimed games of all-time and (likely) one of the PS4’s final exclusives, we only have a few more weeks to wait until the game is finally out, and today gave us a new look at what looks like an intense new chapter for Joel and Ellie.
This Wednesday, we’ll be sharing another glimpse into #TheLastofUsPartII and an all-new extended gameplay sequence on State of Play. Don’t miss it. https://t.co/vti1sKCkAI pic.twitter.com/AocztmzY2b

As previously announced, Sony debuted its latest State of Play broadcast, this time focused specifically around new gameplay footage from The Last of Us Part II. Over the course of the nearly 25-minute presentation, Naughty Dog gave us some new details on the upcoming sequel and what players can expect from its world, while also giving us an extensive look at a brand new gameplay section that hasn’t been shown before. In case you missed it, you can check out the State of Play video below:
Now that we’ve gotten another extended look at The Last of Us Part II, we want to hear from the DualShockers community: what was your reaction to the new gameplay footage? Are you looking forward to the game even more? What surprised you about the new demo (aside from a Vita cameo)? What else do you think we will see when the game finally releases? Let us know in the comments below.
As a huge fan of the original game, The Last of Us Part II is a game that I’ve both been incredibly looking forward to, but also kind of dreading. Given what we’ve seen of the game so far in previous trailers, we already know that it will definitely be an intense, upsetting experience. But based on the incredible story that Naughty Dog gave us through the original game (and the brand new gameplay footage), I have no doubt that The Last of Us Part II will be an amazing game in its own right, and one that I hope caps off this generation on a high note.
The Last of Us Part II will release exclusively for PS4 on June 19, 2020.
