Dengeki Online held a new Sword Art Online stream on May 9, with most notably an Alicization Lycoris corner. The stream featured SAO author Reki Kawahara, SAO Editor Kazuma Miki, SAO console games Producer Yousuke Futami, and Aniplex + SAO Anime Producer Masaki Niwa.
The Alicization Lycoris part started with the other producers teasing FutamiP for his K-pop like blond bleached hair (which looks pretty good imo). During this part, Yousuke Futami reiterated Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris shouldn’t be delayed again. In fact, the game is about to go gold “very soon”.
Next up, we got to see a new Character Sub Episode event scene of SAOAL. This time featuring Ronie and Tiese.

The first part shows Ronie mentioning she needs to go back home. Kirito is worried and decides to go with her. The second part shows dating scenes with Ronie and Tiese, similar to the one with Eugeo we’ve seen last week. Producer Futami said these Character Events are much longer in game and they’re only showing a very small part of it in these videos.
The next Character Sub Episode excerpt will focus on Fanatio.
The rest of the stream focused on the SAO anime, and the 24th volume of the Sword Art Online light novel, Unital Ring III, which released on May 9 in Japan. They didn’t say anything that interesting on either subject though.
Producer Yousuke Futami recently revealed SAOAL‘s length and answered questions regarding a Switch port on a Periscope stream we covered. The total sales for all SAO console games have also topped 5.6 million units in the world.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris launches July 10 worldwide on PC via Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. You can read the latest story details here. You can preorder it on Amazon to support us.
