With its release in 2017, NieR: Automata quickly became one of the most acclaimed games in a year that saw plenty of other acclaimed games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, and many more. Thanks to its compelling story, haunting world, and fast-paced action gameplay, NieR: Automata became a cult classic that still is hitting impressive milestones over three years later.
Square Enix has announced that since its release, NieR: Automata has reached over 4.5 million in sales worldwide across physical copies shipped and digital copies sold, while thanking fans for their continued support of the game and series over the years. While the game initially released on PS4 and PC at launch in early 2017, the game later came to Xbox One in 2018 with the BECOME AS GODS Edition. Coincidentally, the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass later this week, giving a perfect opportunity to play it if you have yet to experience Yoko Taro’s masterpiece.
We’re happy to announce 4.5M copies of #NieR:Automata have been shipped/downloaded worldwide! Thank you all for your continued support of the NieR series.
