Bethesda’s upcoming Doom Eternal seems to be trying to get its foot into the heart of many types of music genres. There’s just one strange thing about that, Doom is renowned for its heavy metal, and rock music that suits the action-packed, blood-gushing gameplay.
We’ve already seen a TV spot that features an entirely different type of genre of music used to advertise the game, along with…hardly any action gameplay. And now, it seems advertising is getting even more musical as I’ve been seeing Doom Eternal adverts all over Spotify’s free service. The adverts have been appearing as audio adverts and also visual cards, but Bethesda seems to have taken over a Spotify created playlist.
“Power Gaming” is an official playlist created by the music streaming company, and consists of 92 songs with a total runtime of 5 hours and 43 minutes. The genre? All the songs in the playlist are rap tracks. There’s music from artists such as Post Malone, Eminem, Logic, Lil Wayne, Drake, and more. What’s more, pretty much every track is explicit, so prepare for naughty words.
The playlist has the official games logo at the top along with the text, “Presented by Doom Eternal“. Clicking the logo takes you to the official website.
If you want to listen to the playlist and get pumped with some banging beats and spiraling lyrics, you can check it out below. Or if the actual Doom genre is more your thing, you can listen to the official soundtrack for the original game on Spotify, or you can grab it from Steam‘s new soundtrack library.
Doom Eternal is due to land on March 20, 2020, for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. I’m excited about the upcoming soundtrack which we saw a video teasing some tracks the other day.
