Stardew Valley is now 4 years old, and as a treat, developer Eric Barone, otherwise known as ConcernedApe, has announced that the game is getting a free content update. No details have been revealed about what content players can expect.
The upcoming content update will be 1.5 and is currently in the works according to Barone who tweeted the information while also thanking fans for their tweets and celebrating the games 4-year anniversary.
Thanks everyone for the Stardew Valley 4-year anniversary wishes. It’s been a pleasure, and I look forward to another great year! Now that 1.4 is out on all intended platforms, I’d like to announce that there will be another free content update (1.5)..it’s currently in the works!

Barone revealed that the 1.5 content update will have “lots of new content” and will also be a free update. The last update we saw was 1.4 which introduced a load of content such as the ability to kiss your spouse, a movie theatre to unlock, new hairstyles, 181 shirts plus even more clothing items, new music tracks, and loads more which were all detailed in the full changelog.
The update will have lots of new content and it will be free

No information on what sort of content will be heading to Stardew Valley in the upcoming 1.5 update, but Barone has clarified that there are no plans for paid DLC in the future, but he plans on releasing more games. We’ve already learned that there may be a game set in the same universe as Stardew Valley heading our way, but Barone has asked fans “please don’t get too hyped at this stage”.
No plans for paid DLC or anything, but I do plan on creating & releasing more games in the future!
