Bandai Namco announced today a live stream for Blue Protocol will be held on February 7. The stream will be at 20:00 JST (Click here for time conversions) and can be watched on YouTube here. Bandai Namco revealed the stream via Blue Protocol‘s official Twitter account and mentioned we’ll get the latest news on the game.
As a side note, the Twitter account for Blue Protocol tweeted on February 3 for the first time since September 2019, hinting such an announcement was coming. Personally speaking, I’m usually not a fan of making news posts to announce upcoming news, as there’s nothing interesting to say, and I’m not paid enough for this, but Bandai Namco has been super silent about this game these past months, and I’m particularly interested in it, so here we are. Needless to say, as it is the case with live streams of games I’m interested in, I’ll be listening to it fully and share with you guys nice details you probably won’t find anywhere else.
If you haven’t heard of Blue Protocol, it’s an online multiplayer RPG coming to PC. In a nutshell, the story deals with an ancient civilization called Regnus which used a mysterious light energy source called Engram which could even make time travel possible. Thousands of years later, time travelers are using this technology after finding ruins of that civilization, and are trying to save their planet from some impending catastrophe. Blue Protocol was first announced in June 2019 by Bandai Namco, it has an anime style and runs on Unreal Engine, and looks pretty nice. The game got a first trailer and a Closed Alpha Test in Japan in July 2019. Players who participated were strictly forbidden from sharing screenshots and footage so you probably won’t find much on the net. You can check some gameplay and how character creation works over here though.
Blue Protocol wasn’t announced yet outside Japan. I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t come over at some point though. Especially when seeing a lot of the information on its official site is summarized in English, and not in Engrish, mind you. The game has currently no release estimate in Japan, we’ll probably hear one during the stream.
