PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has sold more than 15 million copies (including the margin of error). The announcement was confirmed by stats service website SteamSpy.

Originally released on March 23 of this year as an Early Access title, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developed and published by PUBG Corp., a subsidiary of Bluehole Studios is an online battle royale game. Up to one hundred players are placed on a map in a free-for-all, last man standing deathmatch. Additionally, players can choose to play a match rogue, or with a small team of up to four people. Regardless of which option you pick, either solo or co-op play, the last person or group left alive is declared the winner of the match.

The game is anticipated to exit Early Access in 2018 for PC while an Xbox One version will be available sometime this year through its Game Preview program. Despite the developer Bluehole Studios only anticipating the title to ship just 200,000 to 300,000 units, it substantially surpassed those numbers over the course of this year and is on the verge of passing 2 million concurrent players.
