One of the more surprising reveals from Nintendo this year in one of its recent Nintendo Directs was the reveal that Crypt of the NecroDancer and The Legend of Zelda–a game that heavily inspired it–would be crossing over in the upcoming Cadence of Hyrule. If you’re looking forward to the retro-styled crossover, it appears you won’t have to wait too much longer to play it.
In a new Japanese gameplay video released by Nintendo, Cadence of Hyrule is officially set to release sometime in June 2019, though no specific date has been pegged for the release just yet.
Given the proximity to E3 2019, it’s logical to expect that the game will be featured during the upcoming Nintendo Direct that is planned for that timeframe and that we’ll either get the release date announced, or the game could be a surprise launch after the Nintendo Direct.
Originally it was speculated that Cadence of Hyrule was set to arrive sometime this week as shown through digging in the Nintendo eShop’s source code for the game. May 30 was the date that some suspected that the game would arrive, but it appears instead that Nintendo perhaps wants to (understandably) give the game more of a presence during its E3 Nintendo Direct. That being said, at least we now know that we don’t have to wait too much longer for the intriguing Zelda/NecroDancer crossover title.
Cadence of Hyrule will release for Nintendo Switch in June 2019. For a closer look at the upcoming game, you can check out the new gameplay video below from Nintendo:
