Lazy Bear Games is the team behind the popular adventure sim games Punch Club and Graveyard Keeper. For their newest game, the team has built a streamlined RPG that fans of the developer are going to love. Swag and Sorcery is out this week and you can check out the latest trailer below.
Swag and Sorcery is the third adventure sim that Lazy Bear has released. This one takes the combat of RPGs and streamlines it to make it look more like an idle game. You will train up your heroes and send them out into the world to fight. The game doesn’t fully play itself and you’ll need to monitor your heroes’ progress. If they die, you lose all the loot they’ve collected. Thus, proper use of offensive and defensive spells is required to keep your heroes alive and ready to pick up new swag.
Once you finish a battle, it’s back to town. There, you’ll be able to use resources you’ve found to craft your team better gear. You can also use resources to improve their fantasy town, giving you new items to craft and other ways to improve your heroes.
Lazy Bear has proven they can build a solid adventure sim game across different genres. Punch Club was an excellent fight sim and Graveyard Keeper was an intriguing dive into what it’s like to manage a medieval cemetery. That said, both games were slow to get going by design, so it will interesting to see what changes the team has for their newest project.
Swag and Sorcery is out May 9 on PC.
