The rumor mill is buzzing again. This time it’s about Microsoft, and word on the street is, Microsoft is working on a new subscription called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This subscription would combine the best of Live Gold and Game Pass. According to publication Polygon, this new subscription would be a single monthly charge of $14.95 a month which is $5 more than the standard monthly pricing.
The rumor begins with a Twitter user who leaked the information on his account that this is happening:
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate = Xbox Live Gold + Xbox Game Pass.
$14.99/month, special price for Insiders = $1/month until release.— WalkingCat (@h0x0d) April 5, 2019
You could take this with a grain of salt, but h0x0d has leaked Microsoft information in the past. Also, Brad Sams the Executive Editor of Petri.com later commented, “Ahhhhhh you beat me to this,” and then posted on his Twitter about the subscription service:

Microsoft has experimented with combo subscriptions in the past, called Xbox All Access. The subscription combined, an Xbox One console, Live Gold, and Game Pass all for $34.99, but the subscription was only a limited time offer.
Xbox Game Pxbass already has over 100 Xbox games provided on their subscription. Microsoft combining Live Gold and Game Pass a great addition to gamers. Especially, with the Xbox One S all-digital console that’s slated to be launched May 7, 2019, with pre-orders expected this month. The new disc-less console won’t include a Blu-ray drive. So, the console will have to depend on subscriptions and digital downloads.
Like with all rumors in the gaming community, we’ll have to see what Microsoft will do and how the gaming community will respond to this new launch. What games are you hoping that will to see added to this new game subscription? If you’ve been waiting for a good deal to jump on the Xbox train, now would be a good time — with deep discounts on Amazon, and the disc-less version coming around the corner.
