Magazines leaks have revealed that a free to play version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be released by Bandai Namco on March 20 in Japan, titled Dragon Ball Xenoverse Lite. The free to play version will be exclusive to PlayStation 4.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite will contain the beginning of Story Mode, Parallel Quests, Raid Mode, Online Mode, and the minigame Hero Colosseum. Saves from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite will be transferrable to the main game.
Seeing the schedule of previous updates for the game, there’s a very high chance the free to play version will be launching outside Japan soon after, or the same day. It will probably be available on other platforms than PS4 as well.
Moreover, Photo Mode, which was already announced a few months ago, will be implemented in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on March 20. Following a growing trend of adding Photo Modes in games, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2‘s Photo Mode will allow you to take pictures of your favorite characters or avatar, with various filters and decorations to choose from. Contrast, saturation, and various settings are all customizable so you can get the perfect shot to upload on social media.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch as well. Since its release, the game has been receiving numerous updates and new characters, and is evolving alongside Dragon Ball FighterZ, as both games have different audiences. Speaking of Dragon Ball FighterZ, the same magazine leaks have also revealed that the Dragon Ball GT‘ version of Goku will be added to the game soon.
