Left Alive is now available in the west on PS4 and PC via Steam, and Square Enix published the game’s launch trailer.
The World of Tanks and Half-Life free DLCs have also been detailed. As already stated during their announcement on stream, the items they unlock are purely cosmetical and have no incidence on gameplay. The World of Tanks DLC is downloadable for players on PS4 and Steam and adds World of Tanks symbols and posters along with encyclopedias entries on real-life Russian tanks to read about. The Half-Life DLC is a reskin which turns crowbars in Left Alive into Gordon Freeman’s iconic crowbar, and is only available on the Steam version of the game.
Left Alive is a third-person “survival action” game, and a spin-off of the Front Mission series, tactical RPGs with heavily customizable mechas called Wanzers. Left Alive is divided into multiple chapters, each chapter starring one of the three protagonists, introduced in the launch trailer below.
Left Alive also includes pilotable Wanzers, though most of the game is on foot. The game was directed by Toshifumi Nabeshima, who directed multiple episodes of the Armored Core series back at FromSoftware, and includes mecha designs by Takayuki Yanase, who worked on Gundam 00 and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Meanwhile, the characters were designed by Yoji Shinkawa of Metal Gear Solid fame, so the game has quite the all-star cast. Look forward to our review to see if it holds up to its promises or not.
