New Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn Fixes Handful of Bugs Related to New Game+ and Ultra Hard Difficulty

Guerilla Games, Horizon: Zero Dawn, News, Originals, PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment

Earlier today, a new patch (1.33) went live for the Guerilla Games developed and Sony Interactive Entertainment published open world title Horizon Zero Dawn.

This new update comes in at 309.6 MB and according to a post on the Horizon Zero Dawn Reddit page, it fixes some bugs that were found in one the game’s previous patches which added New Game+ and the Ultra Hard difficulty option. Most notable of these changes include a nerf on Tearblast Arrows that were dealing extra damage on Ultra Hard difficulty as well as fixing a nice little cheat some players had found that would allow them to reroll their Modification Boxes by saving and loading into the game once again.

The full patch notes can be found as follows:

NEW FEATURES
• Implemented an option to allow making a manual save from a previous Game when starting a New Game to avoid losing progress.

GENERAL FIXES
• Fixed an issue where for some players Tearblast Arrows incorrectly deal extra Tear damage on Ultra Hard.
• Fixed an issue where some players were able to reroll Special Modification Boxes by saving and reloading.

PROGRESSION ISSUES FIXES
• Fixed an issue in ‘The Womb of the Mountain’ when playing on Story difficulty where some players were able to kill the Corruptor outside of the gate, blocking progression because the player is not able to interact with it to continue the quest.

Unfortunately, the Reddit post was later updated to inform players that today’s new patch once again created another issue that involves the game crashing “when trying to load a save where the player had an opened treasure box in their inventory containing a modification and other items.” Luckily, Guerilla Games seems to be well aware of the problem and should hopefully have it fixed relatively soon in a subsequent update.

Horizon Zero Dawn released exclusively on PS4 earlier this February where it received a rare 10 out of 10 from us here at DualShockers. On November 7, Horizon Zero Dawn will be receiving its first DLC expansion titled The Frozen Wilds which is available now for pre-order for $14.99 to those who have PS Plus and for $19.99 to those who don’t.
