The Game Awards 2018 is happening today, December 8, 2018, in just over an hour. For those of you looking to watch the show in order to see all of the new announcements live, here’s where you can catch the livestream as well as everything else you need to know before it begins.
Shortly after Sony shared the news that there won’t be a PSX in 2018, Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller discussed the idea of hosting his own showcase in lieu of the event. The completely independent Kinda Funny Games Showcase was then officially announced a few days later.
Alongside the announcement, he directly asked video game developers and publishers if they like to see their games showcased on his platform. It seems that a lot of developers answered the call as we are going to see over 60 new games or updates for already released games today. Confirmed so far are announcements from SEGA regarding Yakuza, Funcom regarding a new Conan game, and Sabotage regarding some sort of new content for The Messenger.
Humble Bundle, Futurlab, Devolver Digital, Bithell Games, Outer Loop, Kitfox Games, and Drinkbox Studios are all also on board with the showcase, so it will definitely be a packed show. A half dozen games will be releasing live during the stream today as well!
