There were a lot of great games that won some well-deserved awards tonight at The Game Awards 2018, but perhaps one of the most noteworthy releases of the year that left empty-handed was that of Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Yes, despite being nominated in a variety of different categories, Marvel’s Spider-Man didn’t take home any hardware, most often losing to that of Red Dead Redemption 2 and fellow Sony first-party title God of War. Now, both of those games, in particular, are fantastic, but it still is rare to see a game of Marvel’s Spider-Man’s caliber–a game we gave a 10 here at DualShockers–get left out in the cold like this.
I’m not here to say that Marvel’s Spider-Man should have beat any of the other games in its own categories, but I’m curious about what you have to say. Do you think Spider-Man should have won any categories tonight? And if so, which ones? You can see the full list of tonight’s nominees and winners here in case you weren’t able to catch The Game Awards for yourself this year.
Let me know down in the comments if you have a strong opinion about this either way. And to see if Marvel’s Spider-Man ends up winning any of our own annual awards here at DualShockers to close out 2018, stay tuned in the coming weeks.
