Within the past few days, fans began getting excited that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the Wii-exclusive title that features an emphasis on motion controls, could be coming soon to the Switch if what seemed to be hints from Zelda director Eiji Aonuma were to be believed.
Well, it seems like those potential teases shouldn’t be regarded any longer. After many thought that Aonuma was hinting that Skyward Sword could be coming to Switch during a Legend of Zelda concert in Japan just a few days ago, Nintendo has now gotten out in front of this speculation and has shot down any further spreading of rumors.
In a new quote given to Eurogamer, Nintendo simply said the following about any likelihood of seeing Skyward Sword on Switch:
“At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.”
That seems pretty straightforward to me. If you’ve hyped yourself up over the past few days about the idea of Skyward Sword hitting Switch, you should maybe now start to reserve those expectations. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Skyward Sword couldn’t one day come to Switch, it just means that it’s something you probably shouldn’t expect to see anytime soon.
In all honesty, though, Skyward Sword isn’t a very good Zelda game anyway. You’re better off replaying Breath of the Wild, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, or literally any other Zelda title from the past 20 years over Skyward Sword. Fight me down in the comments if you dare to disagree.
