Atlus launched a new trailer for the dungeon crawler RPG Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, coming to Nintendo 3DS on October 17 in North America, European date still “to be announced”.
First off we are introduced to the Rover character class. The party member will specialize in long distance attacks and will be most useful in the back line. They have a large knowledge of nature and that plays into their skill for battles as well as exploring.
Secondly, there is the Necromancer who brings death to the Yggdrasil tree, well, the undead at least. This party member can summon wraiths to perform attacks and can absorb a large amount of damage. Other skills will require the Necromancer to sacrifice an undead to heal the party or disable an enemy.
Additionally, there is currently a demo available for free on the 3DS eShop.
In Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth players will be able to explore the Yggdrasil tree with their created party of explorers as the ascend the levels and map out their adventure in true Etrian series fashion. It’s said that at the top the tree there is a power to fulfill someone’s greatest wish, but it’s not that easy. There are many bosses, enemies, and other adventures that the player will encounter on their way up.
In case you missed it, you can check out the other character trailers: Pugilist Class, Botanist Class, Therian Masurao Class, Warlock Class, Dragoon Class, and Fencer Class.
