Today Bandai Namco released a new batch of screenshots of its upcoming JRPG God Eater 3.
We learn a bit more about the story. A mysterious calamity named “Ash area” has placed mankind into an unprecedented crisis, turning into ashes everything it touched. This also caused the collapse of all Fenrir branches one after the other.
Part of the population barely managed to survive by withdrawing in underground cities named “ports.” They also created soldiers named Adaptive God Eaters (AGE) to continue fighting against the Aragami on the surface, thanks to their innate resistance to the Ash Area.
The ports then proceeded with the construction of mobile fortresses that can withstand the Ash Area, called “caravans” in order to transport goods and information between each city. They’re mankind’s only lifeline as all communication infrastructure has been lost.
The caravan is protected by armor that can keep the ashes out and carries a radar that can gather information from the surrounding area, including the position of nearby aragami. That being said, the quality of this information is greatly influenced by the abilities of the God Eater operating the radar.
The story begins when the hero receives a distress call from one of these caravans while on a mission out of the Pennyworth port. That caravan is led by the “ash trailer” of the port Chrysanthemum, which excels at high-speed maneuvering and shifting mid-size cargo. Yet, it has no battle capabilities as weapons have been neglected in favor of speed.
The owner of the Chrysanthemum ash trailer is Irda Enriquez, engaged at the beginning of the story in the transportation of a cargo ordered by the port of Gleipnir. That’s when she meets the hero.
Amy Chrysanthemum is her mission operator and performs various tasks aboard the ash trailer including mission control, order management, communication with ports and other caravans, and database management.
We also see a girl who appears to b relevant to the story. She has strange horns on her head. Her role is a mystery.
