There’s still not a whole lot of information out there about Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming project Control, but every now and then they do release some brief new dev diaries about the game.
Yet another one of those videos was released today and this time around, the topic of conversation was on Control’s protagonist, Jesse Faden. Even though her name isn’t also the title of the game like previous Remedy characters Alan Wake and Max Payne, Jesse is still just as integral to the story and world of Control as explained by the devs.
While talking about how Jesse fits into this narrative, Remedy members also discuss the excruciating details that they put into her character’s design. They state that this is the most precise they’ve ever been when creating a character’s look because they wanted her clothing and feel to fit into the surrounding world that they’re building. It’s also explained why they chose Courtney Hope to play the role of Jesse.
I continue to be more and more intrigued by everything that Remedy has shown of Control. It’s still one of the games I’m left thinking about the most of everything that I played at E3 this past June and I really hope it pans out well.
Today’s new dev diary is attached below if you’d like to watch it for yourself. Control doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s scheduled to launch next year at some point on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
