Ahead of the release of Metroid: Samus Returns next week, Nintendo today released a new trailer for the game which shows off the variety of weapons and gadgets that Samus will be able to utilize.

This new video runs over four minutes and showcases a ton of cool abilities that longtime Metroid fans should be familiar with. From the more obvious additions such as the morph ball, missiles, and the grapple beam, to seeing a variety of different beam shots such as the charge beam, ice beam and power beam, today’s video hits all the usual Metroid notes. Also worth noting is the classic Metroid music with a bit of a different spin that plays throughout the trailer.

If you’re looking to check out some more extended footage of Metroid: Samus Returns before launch, then be sure to watch the twenty minutes of gameplay that Nintendo released for the game just a few weeks back. From seeing moment-to-moment footage of Samus in action to also showcasing how the game’s amiibo functionality will work, this is a great video for those who want a longer look at Metroid: Samus Returns. And if you’re still not sold on the game after that, be sure to also check out our hands-on preview from earlier this summer.

To watch this new video for yourself in full, you can find it at the bottom of the page. As already mentioned, Metroid: Samus Returns is due out next Friday on September 15, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
