Today Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss announced that their MMORPG Black Desert Online is getting the Drieghan expansion later this year.
The expansion, that will be free for all users, includes over 300 quests, and a new dragon world boss. You can read more about it in the official blurb below.
“Drieghan, also known as the land of dragons and the ancestral home of dwarves is a huge new mountainous area in Black Desert Online offering new story content, quests and challenges. Adventurers will be able to travel to Duvencrune, the capital of Drieghan which shows a variety of environments of an alpine region. New monster areas such as ‘Sherekhan’s Grave, ‘Blood Wolf Town’, ‘Tshira Ruins’ will be released as well as the new dragon world boss, Garmoth, the Crimson Dragon. Players can also look forward to the Dragon Slayer, a brand new powerful craftable weapon which nearly matches the “Dandelion” weapon.”
This will add another giant chunk of land to the already massive open world that Black Desert Online players can enjoy. Personally, I always felt that the game’s world is its best feature, so I’m always excited when Pearl Abyss adds more land to explore.
The update will be playable at EGX in Birmingham between September 20th and September 23rd.
Alongside the announcement we also get a trailer and a batch of screenshots and artwork showing the majestic land of Drieghan. You can check them out below. If you want to see more, you can also check out a trailer and screenshots of the recent “remastered” update, which improved graphics and music considerably.
The game is already available for PC (and you can read my review, even if a ton of content has been added since), and it will go in beta for Xbox One in the fall.
