This morning’s news from Gamescom 2018 in Cologne, Germany just keeps coming; and as promised, they have delivered a release date for Shenmue III. The game will be coming on August 27, 2019, according to the brand new trailer.
The long-awaited sequel to the fondly remembered Sega Dreamcast classic first reared its head back in 2015 during E3. It was then followed by a hugely successful Kickstarter. This morning’s Gamescom conference saw Deep Silver announcing a final release date alongside an epic new trailer which tells the tale of a prophecy. However, it seems that those who’ve been waiting for more than a decade to get their hands on a third installment in the much-loved Shenmue series will have to wait just a little longer, as it’s booked to launch next year.
Shenmue III will be arriving on PlayStation 4 and PC on August 27, 2019. However, for those waiting patiently for the game’s release, this is the perfect time to revisit the first two games in the franchise and refamiliarize yourself with the series. Shenmue I and II are available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, which you can grab from Amazon if you are catching up with the series. Meanwhile, check out the Prophecy Trailer below:
