Square Enix revealed three brief videos of its upcoming action-adventure game The Quiet Man.
The first shows the controls on PS4, while the second and third videos are perhaps more interesting, as they deal with Focus Mode.
The second video shows the “Focus Meter” which is a gauge measuring how focused protagonist Dane is. The intriguing part is that the game doesn’t have any traditional HUD, so where’s the gauge? If you look to the right of the screen there is a lens flare. It starts at the bottom right and it’s red. As Dane hits his enemies, the flare moves upwards and it turns blue. That’s the focus meter.
Once the meter is full, you can use it to activate Focus Mode, which will enable powerful finishers, as you can see in the third video.
The Quiet Man is set to launch for PS4 and PC, but we don’t yet know when. As far as Square Enix mentioned so far, it’ll be a digital release only.
