Today Microsoft and Rare launched the new content update of Sea of Thieves titled Cursed Sails, and to celebrate the house of Xbox announced a new player count milestone for the game
The game has now passed five million players between Xbox One and PC. That’s certainly not bad for a new IP.
Cursed Sails includes enemy skeleton ships to do battle against, three-man Brigantine player ships to fight them with, a new alliance system, and more.
Of course, the new content is available for free to anyone who purchased the game or got it via the Game Pass service.
On top of the news, we also got a new Developer Update video, in which Executive Producer Joe Neate talks about the new features included in the update. You can check it out below.

Sea of Thieves is currently available for Xbox One and Windows 10. If you want to jump on board, you can grab a copy on Amazon.
