While its been years since Gangnam Style, the Harlem Shake, or even the Stanky Legg have been pillars of internet culture, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy a good viral dance when I saw one. Thankfully, the folks over at Hi-Rez Studios have released a video promoting the Nintendo Switch version of Paladins: Champions of the Realm, complete with dancing Joy-Cons, light-up sneakers, and plenty of masks.
Set to a hip-hop rendition of the classic Mii Channel music (complete with trap hi-hats,) the video features an energetic pair of Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons dancing around the Hi-Rez Studios office. Joining the Joy-Cons are a series of Champions from Paladins, well at least, people wearing cardboard masks of Champions. This motley crew of characters is shown loitering around working employees, hanging out in front of the office’s entrance, and most importantly, flaunting those sweet, sweet dance moves.
In addition to its stellar choreography and sense of humor, the video is enjoyable because it ultimately shows the Hi-Rez Studios employees having fun. Being a game developer is an often stressful job, especially when you just released your game on a new platform. Above all, it’s good to see the team at Hi-Rez Studios have a little fun while promoting the Switch version of Paladins.
