If you know me, and by now you probably do, you’re already aware of how much I love the Muv-Luv series. It’s just the perfect balance of lovely anime ladies and some of the best mecha design of the series, wisely mixed with romance and a tragic, complex story that can satisfy the most demanding sci-fi fans.
Starting today, if you’re in Europe, you can enjoy the main series (Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative) on the PlayStation Vita, bringing new life to the ailing portable. If you’re in North America, you’ll have to wait until June 12th.
In order to underline this moment, publisher PQube released a launch trailer for both games, giving the uninitiated a good look on what to expect.
The story of the two (actually three, as Muv-Luv includes Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited) games start in a very usual way, with a school-based romantic visual novel. It tricks you into believing that everything is going to be fine, and then everything goes to hell. It’s a massive rollercoasters of emotions, and most definitely one of the best visual novel sagas of all times.
You can check out the trailer below. If you want to read more, you can enjoy out our recent review of the main trilogy and the the first gameplay of the PS Vita version. You should also read our interview with creator Koki Yoshimune.
Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative are also available for PC via Steam.
