Today Bandai Namco released a batch of screenshots of its upcoming third-person shooter/action JRPG Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.
The game has a third-person shooter style reprodicing Gun Gale Online, but it retains RPG elements like character growth and customization, a solid story surrounding the players, and relationship changes with other characters.
The screenshots we see today showcase some of the gun types included in the game: hand guns, rocket launchers, gatling guns, and shotguns. The battle system is action-based, including flashy moves like shooting while dodging and sliding.
As mentioned before, the setting of the game is the virtual MMO shooter Gun Gale Online that appears on the second season of Sword Art Online. It’s a world destroyed by war, populated by those who returned on board of a colonization space craft. Dominated by guns and steel, players strive to become the best gunners. Since Player Killing is possible, they aim to win not only again monsters, but also against other players.
We also get to see some of the areas of the game, including the capital city SBC Glocken, the ruins in the wasteland, the desert, and the Old South area.
Last, but not least, the screenshots showcase Kirito and Sinon, not to mention a small glimpse on Asuna and Leafa, who will also appear in the game.
If you want to see more of the game, you can check out the first trailer and a gameplay video.
The game will release worldwide for PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2018.
