Today, Rocketcat Games, Madgarden, and Ukiyo Publishing finally released Death Road to Canada, an Oregon Trail inspired zombie survival game, on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. To celebrate, a launch trailer was released for the game, showcasing what players can expect from the title.
Death Road to Canada was originally poised to release on consoles on April 25, but was delayed after a van attack in Toronto killed 10 people and left fifteen injured just days before the game’s original release date. Ukiyo Publishing thought it would be “deeply inappropriate to launch the game at such a time,” so Death Road to Canada’s release was pushed back until today.
That being said, Paul Hann, Managing Director at Ukiyo Publishing, was still very excited to finally launch the game today:
“We’re proud to have partnered with two of the most talented studios around, Rocketcat Games and Madgarden, to release Death Road To Canada for consoles. I can’t wait for players to jump in attempt the grueling, gruesome trip to Canada.”
Rocketcat Games Co-Founder Kepa Auwae also commented on finally bringing the game to consoles:
“We’re thrilled to finally release Death Road To Canada for consoles, The game translates incredibly well to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It plays great, the pixel-art looks suitably blood-splattered and local co-op is blast. Onwards to Ontario!”
