2017 was a pretty good year for Sonic the Hedgehog fans. While Sonic Forces was a bit disappointing, Sonic Mania was amazing and reinvigorated the long-running series at its 2D roots. As usual, the blue hedgehog doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon, as SEGA announced today that will be revealing new project pertaining to Sonic the Hedgehog later today at an SXSW panel.
This panel is officially titled Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel, and will take place at 4:30pm ET. This panel will have several notable guests, including Takashi Iizuka, Head of Sonic Team, Aaron Webber, Social Media Manager for the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Tyson Hesse, Animation Director for Sonic Mania, and Jasmin Hernandez, SEGA’s TV Animation Production Coordinator.
According to SEGA “the future of the franchise and some exciting new projects and collaborations” will be discussed during the panel. While the event may not be entirely game-focused, Sonic the Hedgehog fans will still probably get some sweet news out of it. DualShockers will be sure to let you know if any important games or projects are announced at this panel.
