After a couple years of development, Mexican developer Lienzo has finally released Mulaka, an action-adventure game based on the mythology of the Tarahumara people, on PC and PS4. To celebrate, a launch trailer for the game was released.
While the game launched today on PC and PS4, Mulaka won’t release on Nintendo Switch under Thursday, March 3, or on Xbox One until Friday, March 2. Along with giving a taste of the game’s great soundtrack, this video also shows the game’s world and abilities. Most of the in-game locations were based on real-life places around where the Tarahumara people live, which gives the game some real-world authenticity, even with its low-poly art style.
Players are able to transform into four different creature in Mulaka after receiving the power from demigods. This includes a woodpecker transformation to fly with, a puma to pounce on enemies and up walls, a bear to destroy large objects, and a snake for freezing things and traveling across the water. If you want to get a good overview of what Mulaka looks and plays like before purchasing it, this launch trailer is a good thing to watch.
