Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition just released a week ago and it already seems to be quite successful. The remaster now has the second highest debut for the franchise in Japan.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition has the 2nd highest debut for the Xenoblade franchise in Japan at over 90k units, just slightly behind XB 2. Its launch is bigger than the Wii release, 3DS release, as well as XBC X

In a new tweet from user Benji-Sales, he states Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition sold over 90,000 units in Japan. This makes the game the second highest debut for the RPG franchise, only second to Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This means its launch is bigger than the original Wii release, the 3DS release, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
It seems the games success is not just in Japan. Just a few days ago, it was reported Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition also sold well in the UK. It was number one on the UK charts, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V, and FIFA 20.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is a remaster of Wii RPG which originally launched in Japan in 2010; it came to the PAL region in 2011 and in North America in 2012. Along with upgraded graphics and performance, it also includes rerecorded music tracks. There is also a new epilogue called Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected which will include a new story and end the main game.
Personally, I have only played roughly 10 hours of the 3DS release. Despite my limited time with Xenoblade Chronicles, I am eager to check out this remaster. The world is super interesting, and I really enjoyed its action-oriented mechanics.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
