The latest additions to Xbox Game Pass for March 2021 is heavily sports themed! Many of these sporty additions are available on Xbox Game Pass right now, these include NBA 2K21, Football Manager 2021, and Madden NFL 2021. Some of the other games will be coming at a later date. You can check out the announcement on the official Xbox site.
We’ve put together the latest additions and ranked them from best to worst! These are of course personal opinion, so if you feel differently let us know down below in the comments.
Football Manager 2021
It’s time to dust off your ankle-length coat and get your virtual manager brain into gear because Football Manager 2021 is by far the biggest inclusion to Xbox Game Pass for March 2021.
Many players may feel that this year’s Football Manager isn’t that different from its predecessor and that the changes are merely cosmetic. But in actuality, Football Manager 2021 is a huge step up from the previous year, you’ll find having the ability to take a small unknown club into the championship league is so so rewarding.
Football Manager 2021 is far easier to get to grips with if you’re new to the series and is easier on the eyes with the cosmetic changes. For anyone that’s a football fan, picking up this fantastic simulator is a no-brainer.
Star Wars: Squadrons
Squadrons is far from the perfect entry into the Star Wars universe, but boy is it a brutally fun game to play. If you play Star Wars: Squadrons in VR, you’ll be blown away by how realistic everything is, you’ll probably even forget about your boring 9-5 office job and get lost in the huge multiplayer space battles to the point you actually believe you’re in a dogfight among the stars of the universe.
The campaign isn’t anything to shout about, but I’d recommend jumping into that before diving headfirst into a multiplayer dog fight.
NHL 21
It’s hard to talk bad about games at the moment, with so many developers having to work on AAA games from their own home I can understand why some of the latest entries might not be up to the scale we would expect. It’s unfortunate that out of all of the EA titles receiving next-gen upgrades, NHL 21 won’t be one of them.
With that being said, NHL 21 is a fun ice-hockey game that will definitely keep you entertained if you’re a fan. You won’t be getting a next-gen experience with the latest instalment and will have you wondering how it’s an upgrade on the previous instalment. But the title doesn’t have much competition in terms of ice hockey games. So for those die-hard ice hockey fans, this is definitely a game for you.
NBA 2K21
Just in case you never got the opportunity to see it in real life, you can now see the sweat drop down from Michael Jordan’s arms in clear 4K quality. The visuals on NBA 2K21 are superb and paired with the smooth animations on the court, you’ll be left feeling like Kobe himself.
However, there’s still that huge clipping problem that seems to be present in every NBA game, but I can imagine it’s a difficult thing to overcome in a basketball simulator. Nevertheless, NBA 2K21 is a true next-gen basketball game where you can physically feel the difference between players and is definitely worth playing whether you’re a basketball fan or not.
Madden NFL 21
Even though Madden NFL 21 is at the bottom of this list, it’s still a fantastic game that deserves some love. The gameplay is far smoother than its predecessor and has much stronger animations. Many players reported bugs, but it’s likely a lot of the bad ones have been fixed in updates since it’s release. One of the best additions to Madden 21 is the new 6-on-6 arcade mode called ‘The Yard’. You’re able to customise your avatar and get out on that field beaming with individuality. ‘The Yard’ is a backyard football mode with a fun over-the-top style gameplay that will keep you entertained for hours.
For sports fans, being an Xbox Game Pass member in March couldn’t get any better! Make sure to jump in and let us know what you think of this sports-filled lineup.
