After a stagnant month of April that mainly saw Ubisoft’s The Division 2 staying atop the weekly UK sales chart, Saber Interactive’s new co-op shooter World War Z has finally caused a shakeup.
For the sixteenth week of 2019, World War Z came out as the big winner on the weekly UK gaming charts. As the only major new release of this week, World War Z didn’t have a whole lot of competition to ensure a successful launch. The Division 2, which held the top spot previously, fell down on the chart this week to third place while FIFA 19 slotted in at second.
Other than some other usual suspects in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Red Dead Redemption 2 rounding out the top five, this week’s chart was pretty barren when it comes to major movement. EA’s Anthem saw a surge back up to fifteenth overall after previously having been out of the top-40, but this was mostly due in part to the game being on sale. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster also found its way to twentieth overall this week after making its debut on Xbox One and Switch.
