The upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands will introduce a new starting area that helps new players understand the basics.
Announced in a Blizzard blog post, Exile’s Reach is a new starting area for World of Warcraft aimed for newcomers. Tasked with finding a missing expedition, you and a group of novices set sail to find them. However, “things take a turn for the worse,” finding yourself on the new island location.
Between levels one to 10, you will explore the Exile’s Reach, with each quest increasing in difficulty as you progress. The end of this brief adventure will include a new “mini-dungeon” featuring two new bosses; the dungeon is designed for up to five players.
As mentioned, this new area is designed to acquaint new players with World of Warcraft‘s fundamentals. The basics learned will depend on the class you choose. Mentioned in the blog post, picking a Warrior will teach you to properly use charge while Rogues will learn how combo points work. New characters will also be introduced allowing players to learn new skills.
Exile’s Reach will be mandatory for new players. After you’ve completed the new adventure, you will begin Battle of Azeroth. Once you’ve hit level 50, you can begin the new World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands.
If you are no stranger to World of Warcraft, you can choose whether you want to take part in the new Exile’s Reach adventure. Once you’ve reached level 10, you can choose to continue in Battle of Azeroth or speak with Chromie to choose a different expansion. Similar to new players, once you reach level 50, you can begin Shadowlands.
The World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands is set to launch for PC sometime in 2020. It will include the new Shadowlands zone, covenants, and the Torghast, Tower of the Damned dungeon. You can pre-purchase the expansion now on the online Blizzard Shop.
