Fortnite – Alien Nanites
Alien Nanites allow players to recreate the atmosphere found on the home planet of the aliens currently invading Fortnite. Simply find an Alien Nanite and throw it down in order to create a low-gravity biome that players can walk in and out of. When you walk inside of the biome it will recreate a sense of low-gravity, allowing you to float around.
There’s no need to worry about taking fall damage if you jump out of the biome from a high place. If you want to descend a little faster whilst you’re inside of the low-gravity area, simply crouch.
Low-gravity isn’t the only purpose for Alien Nanites, they can also be used as a crafting ingredient, much like Nuts and Bolts. Players can combine an Alien Nanite with Rare (or higher) SMGs, Assault Rifles, or Sniper Rifles to craft them into alien weapons.
According to Epic Games, Alien Nanites can be located on the ground, on top of Abductors, and inside of the Mothership if you are to get abducted. Players can find them in chests or as simple ground loot.

July 6 Map Changes
So, what else is new in the July 6 Fortnite hotfix? Well, the aliens have begun taking over the Fortnite island and mixing things up. Players can drop into Holly Hedges to see that the aliens have started forming biomes around the POI, changing the houses and nature around it.
According to Epic Games, Holly Hedges is now a good spot to get your hands on Alien tech.
The POI has also changed its name to ‘Holly Hatchery’ and features new anti-gravity zones, much like the Alien Nanites. Check out images of the map changes below, courtesy of JayKeyFN.
