A brand new title from Pixelated Milk will be arriving later this year as a tactical RPG set during the Second World War. The game, titled Warsaw, will find a group of characters going through the war-torn and Nazi-invaded titular country, and it certainly looks artistic.
The story told through Warsaw is of Poland’s historic uprising that took place in 1944 and introduces a story of love, friendship, loyalty, and the struggle the characters go through.
The reveal trailer for Warsaw can be found below and is the first video to hit gaming company’s YouTube channel. The publisher’s previous title being Project Warlock as detailed on their website.
While the reveal trailer doesn’t reveal any gameplay, we do get to see a wonderful looking animation that was created by Human Ark and features a song by Polish singer Brodka. The trailer introduces the setting as the 28th day of the uprising and shows a battle breaking out as a female character runs through beaten down streets amongst gunfire.
A German dog finds her grieving next to the body of someone she was obviously close too. The dog lunges as she reaches for a gun and the shot cuts away as we hear gunshots ring out as German’s invade the streets.
Two screenshots of the game were released in a press release and show off a stylised 2D game with character stats, and shows the heroes facing the Nazi’s. The description of the game states that Warsaw is a mix of tactical RPG and a touch of strategy. As well as hiding away in safety you’ll need to leave to gather resources and recruit new members for your team as well as engaging the enemy. All this across a “fully realized city to traverse”.
Players will be able to manage equipment and their team as well as going through a deep system of interlocking skills. Firefights take place with players being able to flank, take cover, reposition, set weapon range, and assess ammo consumption.
Warsaw is due to launch on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch at some point in Q3 2019. If you’re planning on attending PAX East 2019 from March 28 to March 31 you’ll be able to try the game out for the first time.
