UPDATE: Based on new information, it seems as though we now know what all five of these AAA games will likely be. They include Watch Dogs LegionGods & MonstersRainbow Six Quarantine, a new Assassin’s Creed, and a new Far Cry. More information on the new AC and FC titles can be read about here.

The original story can be found below.

Ubisoft today revealed its financial information for the third quarter of the company’s fiscal year and in the process, talked a bit about what the publisher has planned for the upcoming year.

In Ubisoft’s third quarter sales report, the publisher announced that it is planning to ship five AAA games in the coming fiscal year. This period will start on April 1, 2020, and will then end on March 31, 2021.

This information isn’t all too shocking given that we already know three of the AAA titles that Ubisoft plans to release in this window. Originally planned to release in this current fiscal year, Ubisoft delayed the release of Watch Dogs LegionGods & Monsters, and Rainbow Six Quarantine in late 2019. In the process, it said that Watch Dogs Legion and Gods & Monsters specifically would be releasing in the second half of 2020. Furthermore, all three games were also announced to be coming to next-gen platforms as well.

Ubisoft further expanded during the call portion of today’s financials reveal and said that three of the five of these new AAA games are planned to launch in the company’s third quarter, which will take place between October and December of this year. The other two titles will then arrive in the fourth quarter, which is between January and March of 2021.

So the question becomes: just what are these other two mystery titles that Ubisoft plans to release in its next fiscal year? Well, based on what we already know that Ubisoft has in development, we can make a few educated guesses.

For starters, Skull & Bones has been in the works at Ubisoft for years at this point, but we have yet to receive a firm release window for the pirate sim. Considering how long it has been in the works, a release before the end of March 2021 seems feasible.

Then there is Beyond Good and Evil 2, which has been in the spotlight for quite some time at Ubisoft. While the studios behind the game have been occasionally showing snippets of it to the general public for a while now, it also seems nowhere close to being finished at this point. Considering how ambitious this project is, a launch in the next fiscal year doesn’t seem likely.

And then there is Ubisoft’s bread and butter: Assassin’s Creed. Having been almost two years since the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it would seem quite likely that the company would love to release a new installment in the ever-popular series to coincide with the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. While the next entry in the series hasn’t been revealed just yet, previous leaks and teases from Ubisoft themselves seem to hint that the next game will center around Vikings. If Ubisoft reveals a new AC title later this year, an impending release in the upcoming fiscal year would seem to make a lot of sense.

There are still more questions than answers at this point about what else Ubisoft might plan to release in the coming year, but the publisher said that it will opt to reveal more around May, which is when its next financial call will take place. Until then, let us know what you think or hope Ubisoft might release in the coming year in the comments down below.
