In the least shocking news this year, the world’s greatest player Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest rated player in FIFA 18 once again.
Publisher and developer EA has finally revealed the Top 100 players in their annual soccer/football/futbal/fodbold (let’s not do this) simulation game FIFA 18. Just like the sport it simulates, FIFA is one of the biggest global releases every single year, despite the criticisms of repetitiveness and lack of innovation it has hurled its way with virtually every installment.
That being said, whether it’s people planning their Ultimate Team, fans who want a small victory, etc., people really care about player ratings.
Coming in at No.1 is Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, which is no surprise. Following is Barcelona’s Lionel Messi at No.2, Paris Saint-Germain’s new blockbuster signing Neymar at No.3, Barcelona’s Luis Suárez at No.4, and the world’s best goalkeeper — hailing from Bayern Munich — Manuel Neurer at No.5.
Meanwhile, the rest of the top ten includes two more players from Real Madrid, as well as one from Chelsea, Juventus, and Bayern Munich. Notably, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is the only Premier League player featured in the Top 10. However, while the Premier League doesn’t feature too well in the Top 10, it does have five more players in the Top 20 with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United’s David De Gea, Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois, and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero.
You can check out the full Top 100 for yourself, and see how many of your favorite players are featured. Personally my two favorite players — David Luiz and N’Golo Kante are both featured, the latter getting a substantial upgrade from 81 to 87 after winning Premier League player of the year last term.
FIFA 18 is set to release on September 29th on a plethora of platforms: PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Today, the game’s also annual demo is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. So, if you’re on the fence about this year’s installment or just need a bit of a fix as you wait for the full release, you will want to check that out.
