Today, as part of the Summer Game Fest, Vicarious Visions, Activision, and pro skater Tony Hawk revealed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are getting remastered.
The reveal began with the trailer, which you can see below. From the beginning, you can see the visual improvement, which will run at 60 frames per second at 4K resolution. Then we see comparisons between the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 releases and the new remaster. Every level from the first two entries will be in the game. It was also confirmed music from the original soundtracks would be in the game. Here are the artists listed in the trailer:
- Powerman 5000
- Bad Religion
- Dead Kennedys
- Goldfinger
- Millencolin
- Naughty By Nature
- Papa Roach
- Primus
- Lagwagon
- Rage Against the Machine
It did mention that more artists would also be featured. It also showed some of the pro skaters returning to the game. A post on Xbox Wire confirms the entire Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 roster will be playable. In case you forgot, here are the playable skaters:
- Tony Hawk
- Steve Caballero
- Geoff Rowley
- Bucky Lasek
- Elissa Steamer
- Kareem Campbell
- Andrew Reynolds
- Bob Burnquist
- Eric Koston
- Rodney Mullen
- Jamie Thomas
- Rune Glifberg
- Chad Muska
Each skater will have the special moves you remember them having from the originals. So, Rowley will have the darkslide and Tony Hawk will have the 900. It should be noted that some features that were not available in the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be available in the remaster. This includes the revert and wall plant.
You will be able to play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remaster solo, completing goals old and new, with a friend via local co-op, and online.
Create-a-Skater and Create-a-Park are also back. Both features will supposedly have a plethora of customization options to create unique parks and skaters. It should be noted that your created parks can be shared online.
You can pre-order Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 right now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Epic Games Store. The base version will cost $39.99 and the digital deluxe edition will be $49.99. If you do pre-order, you will get access to the Warehouse Demo before the game launches on September 4, 2020.
