CD Projekt Red knocks it out of the park once again with a brand and drop dead gorgeous Japanese-themed figurine of Ciri from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt titled “Ciri and the Kitsune Figure.” The figure is available for preorder on their official online store now for $275.00 (plus $11 estimated shipping) with a planned release date of Q3 2020.
According to the official description of the item: “The Lady of Space and Time is not bound to any single realm or era — and there are entire worlds of contracts open to one so deadly and determined. This 12-inch, hand-painted figure depicts Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, heir to the Elder Blood, as an accomplished monster slayer during a turbulent time in Japanese history.”
Kitsune, which means fox in Japanese, are often depicted in lore as intelligent beings and possessors of magical abilities that increase with their age and wisdom. It’s fitting then that Ciri would be partnered up with one as it’s a perfect match for her own magic abilities.
Check out the figure in all its glory in the gallery posted below, to get a better view of all the intricate details:
A previously released figure for main protagonist Geralt depicts him as a Rōnin monster hunter. In both cases the actual character design work was done by CDPR artists Jan Marek and Marek Madej, while the 3D model used to craft the statue was done by Marco Plouffe as this is part of a series.
In recent news revealed on the same day that The Witcher TV series finally landed on Netflix, CD Projekt has announced a new move that will keep the video game publisher involved with the IP into the future. Over on the company’s official website, CD Projekt announced that it has now signed a new deal with Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of The Witcher novels. This new agreement is said to give CD Projekt renewed rights and allows the publisher to continue controlling The Witcher when it comes to “video games, graphic novels, board games, and merchandise.”
The latest version of the game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch manages to run fully on the 32GB cartridge and requires no download. However, our News Editor questions whether this port should have happened in the first place, due to the visual sacrifices made to make this a reality. If you want to check things out for yourself, there’s over 25 minutes of the game in handheld mode here.
If you’re still on the fence about the game itself regardless of the version, check out our various DualShockers’ pieces. One extrapolates on the recent Hearts of Stone expansion, while another guides you through 23 essential quests. There’s also our review for the title, which we gave a near perfect score.
