Since the sequel to Nintendo’s mega-hit Zelda Breath of the Wild was announced at E3 last year there has been somewhat of a radio silence around the title. Nintendo Directs have come and gone along with the rumors, hopes and dreams that go with them as Nintendo have yet to reveal anything.
Today however we may have our first indication of how far along the project is, as website Gamereactor has reported that the Spanish voice recording on the game has been completed. The news comes courtesy of Spanish podcast Un café con Nintendo who were lucky enough to have the voice actors who play Revali (Marc Navarro) and Zelda (Nerea Alfonso) in the Spanish dub on the show.
During the podcast the duo reportedly stated that their job on the game was done before debating with each other whether they should have divulged that information. Although these details are limited it would suggest the game is some way along the development cycle.
Rumors initially indicated was due out this year and with the limited knowledge we have of Nintendo’s Q2 releases this could still be a possibility, however reports have since surfaced that the game might not make it until after Nintendo’s next fiscal year. This would mean at the earliest the game would drop in April 2021. It would potentially make sense to delay the game if the rumors are to believed that we’re getting a bundle of Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy remasters before the year is out.
Although a small snippet of information, it’s nice to be reminded that the Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is still a thing that exists and is no doubt one of the most anticipated titles in the ether. Here’s hoping that we get a Nintendo Direct soon to show us what’s in store for the rest of 2020 and beyond.
