The Division 2 Open Beta to Take Place in Early March

News, Originals, PC, PS4, The Division 2, Ubisoft, Xbox One

Following this past weekend’s private beta for The Division 2, Ubisoft has today announced another open beta period for the game which will be taking place closer to launch.

The open beta for The Division 2 will kick off early next month on March 1 and will last until March 4. This trial period will be available across all of the game’s platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This will also take place only two weeks prior to launch and will be your last opportunity to test the game out for yourself before it becomes readily available for all.

As for us here at DualShockers, we’ve been able to go hands-on with The Division 2 quite frequently the past few months and have come away generally positive from all of our play sessions. Back in January, we were able to try out the game’s PvP multiplayer which seems to be building off of the Dark Zone from the original The Division in many thoughtful ways. We also saw a hefty portion of the main campaign recently and found that the new gadgets and equipment in this sequel were satisfying to use.

On a personal level, I’m excited to see more of what The Division 2 has to offer when it releases. As someone who bounced off of the original game rather quickly though, I’m still left wondering if this new game will be able to hook me more this time around. Plus, with other similar games coming out around the same time like Anthem and the ongoing Destiny 2 (which I continue to play), I think adding a third shared-world game into that mix for my own free time seems like a bit much. In the end though, maybe The Division 2 will be the one out of those three that hooks me in the most. We’ll see soon enough, I guess.

The Division 2 releases next month on March 15 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’d like to pre-order the game ahead of that time, you can do so over on Amazon.
